Vaginal Discharge during Pregnancy

Most of the pregnant mothers complain of excess vaginal discharge, often throughout the pregnancy.

Some get worried as they assume this excess vaginal discharge may be due to an underlying infection and may cause miscarriage,  but most of the time, this discharge is completely harmless.

Thin, watery excess vaginal discharge is normal during early pregnancy due to increasing pregnancy hormones which act on the glands in the vagina thereby increasing their secretions.

Also , increased blood supply to the pelvic organs(pelvic congestion) and vagina cause an increase in the watery discharge.
